Hello and Welcome back to the craft room and today’s 10 Years Work Anniversary post. September 4th 2023 was a very important day for me, it was the 10th anniversary at my day job. It has been a long and interesting employment journey. Of the original 15 other employees working there at the time, there are only 4 of us left. I can’t even count the number of people that have come and gone in all of the departments since then. Because this is such a momentous occasion, I wanted to make cards for my 3 co-workers to celebrate. Let me show you the cards I created!
The Background & Sentiment
I decided to make the same card for all three ladies and I began with the background. The card base is a typical A2 size (4.25” x 5.5”). I cut a 2.75” x 4” frame out the center of a scrap piece of card stock the same size as my card front. After taping it to the card with Spellbinders Best Ever Craft Tape, I added a light wash of Lost Shadow Distress Ink. I went with a dark to light gradient of color with my blending brush.

The Happy Anniversary sentiment from the Occasions stamp set by Kaiser Craft is the perfect size for this card. I stamped it with Distress Archival Ink in Hickory Smoke. When this ink color is first stamped, it appears rather dark. However, when it dries back a bit, it’s the perfect shade for this background.

The Floral Embellishment
For the flower I wanted to use the Simon Says Stamp Etched Layered Daisy Stem. Once cut out, the petals of these flowers are extremely delicate. So, I decided to just place a wash of Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink onto the card stock in the approximate size of the layers. I used a heavier hand on one of the spots to offer a little bit of definition between the flower layers.

Once the flowers were cut out, I added a bit more color to the centers with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. Using a very small detail blending brush I dabbed the color onto the flower center.

I wanted to add some leaves to the finished card, but I didn’t want to cut off the leaves that came with the die set. Instead I used the larger of the Leafy Branches die by Paper Rose. I think it adds the perfect touch to finish off this card.

The Finished Anniversary Cards
I couldn’t be happier with how these cards turned out, they are so pretty! Because two of the recipients are Hispanic, I wanted to really bring a smile to their faces. So, with the help of Google Translate, I wrote their message inside the card in Spanish; ¡Feliz Aniversario! Gracias por 10 años de amistad.

Because I am so proud of this card, I want to also enter it into the monthly Flower Challenge #84 Use a Die. If you want to see some other really pretty cards, hop on over and take a look.

Thank you so much for dropping by the craft room and checking out the 10 Year Work Anniversary post. Creating cards for my friends and family makes my heart happy. Seeing their smiles encourages me to continue what I love doing, creating small works of art, from the heart.
I hope you all have a wonderful week to come. Do something that makes you smile, and as an added bonus, do something that makes someone else smile as well.

Thank you so much!!
You can never go wrong with pink and gray, in my opinion, and I love the soft hand you used in blending the colors – it worked perfectly with the delicate bloom. Thank you so much for joining us at The Flower Challenge and congratulations on your 10th work anniversary!
Stef, thank you so much for the compliment on my card. I had a lot of fun creating this one for dear friends of mine. And thank you for the congratulations as well. It’s been one heck of a ride! Lol
