Hello and welcome back to another flashback Friday! Today we are going to take another trip back to December 2000. While working on the snowflake patter that transformed into a 3-D Flower, I also created an earring pattern which I would like to share with you today.
This earring pattern uses seed beads and was inspired by the talented Nina Libin. You can find much more information about Nina’s beading technique on her web site Beanile by Nina Libin. There are tutorial links on her site but I will link the Needle Tatting Tutorial here since that is the technique I used for this pattern. This pattern is more complicated only because of the beads, but it is super cute with endless possibilities of thread and bead colors.
Before Beginning
As Nina points out in her tutorial, seed beads are not uniform in size, and that includes the hole dimeter. When needle tatting, it is important to check each bead with the needle and thread that you will be using for the pattern. It is frustrating to have your beads and stitches on the needle only to find, you can NOT pull it over the eye of the needle. Ask me how I know!!
The Beaded Earring Pattern

Before we begin the pattern, load 28 beads on the thread. These earrings were needle tatted with size 20 Flora thread.
