Flashback Friday 2012 Christmas Cards

Posted on December 6, 2024December 5, 2024 by Leen

Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday 2012 Christmas Cards post. Today weโ€™re revisiting my 2012 Christmas cards. Itโ€™s the perfect time to dive into holiday card-making, and this year, Iโ€™m shaking things up by sending out a mix of designs, including some favorites from years past. Back in 2012, I created charming Christmas tree cards with individual ornaments. A colorful wash over the stamped design, paired with a touch of glitter, made them truly festive. Let me take you on a trip down memory lane and show you these delightful creations!

2012 Christmas Cards

Itโ€™s Christmas card time again!! As always, it is my goal to have our cards finished and mailed before my birthday. Thankfully, and this year I am well on my way to accomplishing that! All I need to do is sign and stuff the cards and stick on the mailing addresses and postage stamps. For the card this year, I kept it rather simple with just one design, compared to last year when I used three different stamps for our cards.

The stamp set, from B & Jโ€™s Art Stamps, is stamped with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. To add the color to the tree image I used Copic markers in E15, G03, Y17, B24, and N2. To add a little variety to the process, I used different colors, and combinations of colors, of Copic markers for the ornaments. Those colors include B28, G09, BG10, BG15, Y13, Y15, YR68, R27, R29, RV13, V05, V06, V09, E19, and W1. To add a touch of sparkle, and Iโ€™m all about sparkle this year, I used Stickles.

To add a little more interest, I used four different colors of card stock for the bases. These colors were, maroon, dark blue, dark green and brown. I also decided to use four different fonts for the sentiments as well. These fonts included Blackadder ITC, Brock Script, Chopin Script, Great Vibes, Italianno, and Renaissance.

The quote on the inside of the card was found online.

After a few cups of coffee in the morning, I plan on grabbing a pen to start signing the cards as the printer spits out the address labels. After that I will start stuffing envelopes and hope to have them ready for the post office by the time I pick my son up from school in the afternoon.

Thank you for joining me for todayโ€™s Flashback Friday as we revisit my 2012 Christmas cards. These were such vibrant designs, with colorful details and that little extra sparkle on the ornaments and star to make them shine. My goal has always been to get our cards in the mail by my birthday in the first week of Decemberโ€”a tradition Iโ€™m cutting close this year unless I get busy tonight!

Do you send out Christmas cards? If so, do you stick to one design or mix it up for everyone? Let me know in the comments, and tell me if youโ€™re ahead of schedule or playing catch-up like me. Wishing you a fantastic weekend, and Iโ€™ll see you back in the craft room soon!
