Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday Another Envelope Mini Book post. Last Friday I shared the post Flashback Friday How NOT to Make a Mini Book. Today I want to share the fixed and finished mini book! As I mentioned in last week’s post, this was a major leaning moment that I have taken to heart ever since. While it was disheartening to see that initial fail, it helped me elevate the finished book! Let me show you.
Another Envelope Mini Book
The other day I put up a post about a mini book that went wrong…it was such a nice book that I had to figure out some way to make it work. I added some adhesives to glue down the paper as well as some ribbon to make it look better. I also added a thin line of glue down the edges of the spine to stop them from ripping any farther.
This mini books was made with A6 envelopes that are 4 ¾” x 6 ½”, and the binding is the Stack the Deck binding by Laura Denison from Follow the Paper Trail. By following this link HERE, you can watch Laura create this fabulous binding system.
I used a paper pack from Colorbox called Dossier and also Vintage Photo Distress ink for the edges of all of the papers. As you will see in the following photos, every other set of pages will have either a flap(or flaps), or a pull out tag. I thought this added an interesting element to the pages.
Unfortunately I didn’t get all of the pages onto the binding as straight as I had hoped. I like to say this is my way of showing the recipient that es, this is a homemade item. LOL
