Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday At Home with Nana post. Back in 2008, my mom wanted help making a Christmas gift. She had been cat sitting and wanted to share how much fun she and the kitties had been having. After supplying the photos, I got to work and created this fun keepsake album for my oldest niece and her family. Unfortunately, the way the images saved to the original blog, they’re quite small—but I’m going to share them anyway. Let’s take a look!
At Home with Nana
Last July, my mom took in two cats for my niece and her family when they moved back to Colorado. She wanted to make a photo album as a Christmas gift to show some of the funny things the cats had been doing while at her house. I offered to help Mom put it all together and even make the book to hold the pictures. This is what I came up with—and everyone loved it!
The cover is made by gluing four thin sheets of chipboard together since I didn’t have a thick enough piece to start with. The finished book measures 6″ x 11″ with a 3/4″ spine. To create the title I used my Sizzix Sidekick and the Bounce Sizzlits alphabet die set. The pages are held together with brads, and the entire stack is attached to the back cover using Terrifically Tacky Tape.
