Welcome back to the craft room and todayโs Flashback Friday Black, White, Silver Challenge post. Letโs jump back to May 2010 for another color challenge. I donโt know about you, but sometimes a quick and easy card is just what the creative mojo needs! This one came together fast, but in person it really shinesโliterallyโthanks to the sparkle from a Stardust pen and a bit of silver ribbon. Itโs also a rare moment for me: a 5″x7″ card base instead of the usual A2 size.
Black, White & Gray Color Challenge
The color prompt that week on StampTV was black, white, and gray. I pulled out my Hero Arts Poppy Background stamp and inked it up with Memento Tuxedo Black. To give the card a subtle shimmer and highlight the floral design, I added some sparkle to the poppies using the Stardust pen.

As for the ribbon detail on the side of the card, I took a bit of a shortcut! I first cut the main ribbon to size, then tied a knot in the center. Before tightening it, I tucked a shorter piece of ribbon into the loop and then pulled the knot tightโquick, easy, and adds a nice layered effect without the bulk of a bow.
Thank you for joining me for todayโs Flashback Friday Black, White, Silver Challenge post. If I were to remake this card, the only thing Iโd change would be using a much darker black ink for the stamped image. While Memento Tuxedo Black is a lovely shade, itโs not the deepest black Iโve come across. A richer ink would help those beautiful poppies stand out even more.
