Hello everyone and welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday CASE Sympathy Card post. Last Friday’s post, Flashback Friday Trio of Flowers was the first design team challenge I participated in. Let’s do another CASE the StampTV Design Team card from back in the day. This is the best way to get your crafting mojo back if you have an artistic block. It works for me every time.
FFAF Challenge – CASE the DT
This weeks StampTV Free For All Friday Challenge is to CASE the design team. (What does CASE stand for? Copy And Selectively Edit) There are rules to follow of course;
- Change 2 or more things from the card. Color, image used, add or remove bling etc…
- Provide the title or a link to the card that was CASEd.
- You must CASE the design team member listed in the challenge and no one else no matter how fabulous they are.
- Have fun!
This months design team member is Jimmi Mayo and I chose to CASE her card, With Sympathy, shown below.

Here is my version of her beautiful card. I changed the colors, the stamps used, as well as the placement of the images, and deleted the bow (because I have a terrible time getting them tied on a card), and the Nestability shapes used to cut out each images.

In the close-up below you can see the rose itself is much paler than the paper. I created this look by first embossing the rose (from B & J’s Art Stamps) with Tuxedo Black memento ink and clear embossing powder. I then went in and very carefully painted the image with bleach to achieve this pale ivory color.

As always, the challenges at StampTV are a blast! I don’t always have a chance to play along, but I sure do enjoy it when I can. Thanks for stopping by!!
Thank you so much for joining me for today’s Flashback Friday CASE Sympathy Card post. Have you tried the bleach technique before? I really love how it looks, and with different cardstocks it looks totally different. Sadly, I am unable to do this particular technique any more as bleach gives me such a horrible headache.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. If you find yourself in need of a crafty nudge, find your favorite crafter and CASE one of their designs. See you in the craft room again real soon!
PIN THIS POST FOR LATER!
