Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday Cuttlebug Challenge 13 post. Thereโs nothing quite like playing with new craft supplies, especially when theyโre Christmas gifts. Back in January 2009, I received the Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and two embossing folders as presents. It didnโt take long for me to put that machine to work, and it served me faithfully for yearsโI absolutely loved it!
By 2018, as finding replacement cutting plates became more challenging, I transitioned to the Sizzix Big Shot. Even so, the memories of all the projects I created with my Cuttlebug still bring me so much joy. Today, I want to share a look back at the card I made for the Cuttlebug Challenge #13. Letโs dive in!
Cuttlebug Challenge 13
One of my favorite gifts this Christmas was a new Cuttlebug machine and two embossing folders! I havenโt used them too much, but the machine does make cutting letters for titles so much easier. I really wanted the matching so I could use the embossing folders.
Thanks to Southernbelle from the Start a Scrapbook forum, I heard about the Cuttlebug challenge blog, and after taking a peek in there today I decided to try their weekly challenge.
Challenge #13 was to create a simple white card. The card that Kim from the design team made was beautiful and I tried to recreate the look on my own. My finished card is 5 X 7 so I had to emboss the card top twice to span the width. The top half of the card needs a little bit of work when lining up the image, but I think for a first try, it looks pretty darn good!

Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think by leaving a comment.
Thank you so much for joining me for todayโs Flashback Friday Cuttlebug Challenge 13 post! The card weโre revisiting is a perfect example of simple yet incredibly elegant design. As I was rereading this post, I realized I had forgotten to mention the embossing folder I used. Itโs the Cuttlebug Textile folder, one of my absolute favorites in my collection. While many older embossing folders like this one can sometimes pop up on eBay, theyโre often elusive treasures that sell quickly. Iโd love to hear from youโwhatโs your favorite embossing folder? Let me know in the comments below! Until then, have a fantastic weekend, and Iโll see you back in the craft room again soon.
