Thank you for joining me for today’s Flashback Friday Emboss It Twice post. Back in June of 2012 I participated in another Mix It Up Monday challenge: Emboss It Twice. These challenges really helped get my creative juices flowing so many times. This challenge was no exception. Let me show you the card I created.
Mix It Up Monday – Emboss It Twice
This week’s Mix it Up Monday challenge, hosted by Kathy, is to emboss it twice. There are a number of different ways to emboss a greeting card, using a Nestabilities die, embossing powder, a Score-Pal or Score-It board, using a brass stencil and embossing stylist, or using a Cuttlebug folder. To create this card, I chose to use a the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and my Score-pal. The paper is Tim Holtz Core’dinations Kraft Core, the ink was Memento Tuxedo Black, and the sentiment is a stamp I’ve had forever.
The stamp didn’t work very well on this textured paper, I’m not sure if it was the stamp itself, the paper, or a combination of both. After embossing the Swiss Dots, I used a fingernail file to expose the kraft core of the paper. The flower is one I made, and I plan to create a tutorial soon, is made with a heavy card stock, and Memento Ink in Cantaloupe.

Thank you for joining me for today’s Flashback Friday Emboss It Twice post. While I love the finished card, I’m not at all happy how the sentiment turned out. The Kraft Kore cardstock had too much texture for the small stamped sentiment. I also wonder if there wasn’t a coating of some sort on there as well. Other than that, I love the look of the card. The separated line in the center of the card with the pop of color in the flower really draws the eye to the sentiment. What do you think of this card?
