Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday Flower Pot Daisies Card post. Back in October of 2014 the Flower Post card was all the rage! Just about every where I looked, someone was showing off their creation. After a while, I decided to try making one of my own. Let me show how I did it.
Flower Pot Daisies Card
I have seen these adorable cards around for a while now and always wanted to try making one. This one has been sitting in pieces on my craft desk for a few months and last night I finally got it put together!
The flower pot is constructed with a piece of kraft cardstock that measures 11” x 4 ½” and is scored at 4 ½” and 9”. When it’s all folded it will measure 4 ½” high, 4 ½” wide at the top and about 3 5/8” wide at the base. The inside base of the card measures 6 ¼” x 3 ½” and the ivory card measures 6” x 3 ¼”. To add some depth to the project, all of the edges were inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink
To make the flowers and leaves I used flower punches. The large and small daisies are from Recollections, while the medium daisy punch is from The Paper Studio. The leaves came from the flower combination punch by EK Success. All of the floral elements were cut from Pure Luxury layering weight ivory cardstock by Gina K Designs. To add color to my daisies and leaves I used Copic markers in Y11, Y15, Y17, & G03, G09.
Here’s a close-up of the flowers. I don’t know if you can see it or not, after shaping the leaves I added some veining with a small stylus.
The finished card fits perfectly into an A7 envelope which is 5 ¼” x 7 ¼”. Depending on the size of your blossoms that you are using, I would suggest making sure you have the envelope on hand before you start arranging the gluing down the flowers, just to make sure it’s going to fit.
