Flashback Friday Gift Card Holder Instructions

Posted on May 24, 2024April 26, 2024 by Leen

Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday Gift Card Holder Instructions post. Although this gift cardholder is not my original idea, I am unsure who to credit. The following dimensions were my adaptation of the original design. Let me show you what I came up with.

Gift Card Holder Instructions

Start with a 12″ x 12″ sheet of cardstock, trim it down to 11.5” x 4.5”. Starting on the 11.5″ edge score at 3.25″, 5.75”, and 8.25” (the image below indicates the score lines from each other starting at either end). From there, fold the card so you have a valley fold, mountain fold and a second valley fold as shown below.

To make the opening for the gift card, fold the card in half at the mountain fold. Either eyeball or mark ½” on each side and about 3/8” in. Using a 1 ½” square punch, punch out the left and right sides of the opening. Then, with a 1 ¼” circle punch, complete the opening.

Your gift card holder should now look like the following photo.

Use the adhesive of your choice to secure the inside of the card keeping it at the very edge of the card stock. For today’s project I chose to use double sided Red Line Tape.

The Finished Gift Card Holder

Your gift card holder is now complete. Decorate the outside cover in any way you desire. You could also include a ribbon closure as I have in the example below.

Thank you for joining me for today’s Flashback Friday Gift Card Holder Instructions post. This is a really nice little gift card holder. I can see this created for every occasion from a baby shower gift, to a graduation gift. You could also make this into a fun slim line design if you had more than one gift card for the recipient. Will you be creating gift card holders for the upcoming graduation season? If so, I would love to know what type you are making. Drop it in the comments below. If you would like a little more inspiration, check out my other Gift Card Holders here on the blog. Until then have a fantastic weekend and I will see you back in the craft room again real soon!
