Thank you for joining me for today’s Flashback Friday Have a Wild Birthday Card post. Let’s flashback to July 2012 for a bit with a fun birthday card. One of the techniques that has always intimidated me is inking a full scene. However, after I received the “Wild About You” stamp set by Theresa Momber for GinaK Designs, I knew I had to give it a try. This set is beautiful and needs a background to go with it. Let me show you what I came up with.
Wild Birthday Card
Itโs time to play with my other new stamp set, โWild About Youโ by Theresa Momber. I used several stamps in this set including, the tree, the large giraffe as well as one of the smaller silhouette giraffes. I also used the small and medium grass, as well as the greeting. The background was made with Memento inks in Dandelion, Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Potterโs Clay, and Rich Cocoa. I began by inking the yellow across the majority of the upper card panel for the sun. Then after cutting a circle from a Post It Note and placing in on the card, I continued to fill in the color until I was happy. I also used Archival Ink in Jet Black.
The large giraffe was colored with Copic markers in E00, E11, E13, E15, & E18. It was then fussy cut and popped up with some foam tape to add a little lit of dimension to the card.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed your visit and remember, comments are always welcome!
Thank you for joining me for today’s Flashback Friday Have a Wild Birthday Card post. I didn’t elaborate much in this post back in the day, but I do remember working a long time on that background. Looking at it now, I think I did a pretty good job with it! As with all things crafty, the more you practice, the better the projects will look. Having said that, I should dig that set out again and make another inked background. I’m curious, are you a fan of inked backgrounds or do you prefer the clean and simple look to cards? Let me know down in the comments. If you are a fan of inking, feel free to share your tips and tricks for all of us! Until then, have a fantastic weekend and I will see you back in the craft room again soon!
