Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday I Made a Book post. Isn’t it funny how the craziest things look interesting when your brain is fried? That was the case back in November 2008. Let’s take a look at what helped unfrazzle my overworked brain this time. LOL
Look I Made a Book!
While taking a much-needed break from studying that week, I sat down and made myself a little book. I followed directions I found on TVWeekly’s Scrapbook Lounge — the Make the Grade Book episode.
As I was making it and showing the progress to the hubbster, he kept asking what I was going to use the book for. My one and only answer (so far)? “I dunno.” Shoulder shrug for good measure. LOL
My finished book measures about 3½” x 5½” and uses some thin scrap pieces of chipboard. I didn’t have any bookbinding glue on hand, so I used some Royal Coat decoupage glue that was sitting up on my shelf instead.

For a first try, I think the whole thing came out pretty darn well! I do need to work on stitching the pages together, though—they’re a little bit sloppy. It probably needs tighter stitches or thicker thread. Maybe I’ll try lighter-weight paper next time too. I used some of my Bazzill cardstock, and it’s a bit thick for pages. Still, for a brain-fried afternoon project, I’d say it turned out pretty great!
