Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday Just a Note post. Back in January of 2015, I was impatiently waiting for spring to arrive. Even though it was still a long way off, I found myself reaching for a beautiful butterfly stamp to bring a little warmth and color into the craft room. That inspiration turned into this cheerful Just a Note card—and today, I’m excited to show you how it came together.
Just a Note
I used the Hero Arts & Sizzix Antique Butterflies & Flowers Framelits die set to create the main elements. For the background, I stamped the butterfly image repeatedly across a piece of kraft cardstock using Rich Cocoa Memento Ink to give it a soft, vintage look.
To add dimension, I stamped one butterfly separately onto a scrap of ivory Pure Luxury cardstock. After coloring it with Copic markers (E99, Y17, YR12, and YR68), I popped it up with foam dots so it would really stand out.
The sentiment was stamped in Rich Cocoa ink on another scrap of Pure Luxury cardstock. I’ve had that sentiment stamp for what feels like forever—and unfortunately, the manufacturer’s name is long forgotten. Still, it was the perfect finishing touch for this sweet and simple note card.
