Welcome back to the craft room for today’s Flashback Friday: Let it Snow post. Crafting cards is one of my favorite creative outlets, and when there’s a challenge involved, it becomes even more rewarding. This card became a calming escape for me as I prepared to host a family Thanksgiving dinner. I’m thrilled with how it turned out—the deep blue spotlight perfectly captures the chilly, snow-filled atmosphere and brings a sense of tranquility to the design. I also love how the patterned paper takes center stage in the background, making it both simple and striking. The addition of brads adds just the right touch of decorative detail to elevate the entire look.
Let it Snow Sketch Spotlight Challenge
We are hosting Thanksgiving tomorrow for the family. To keep my sanity during a cleaning break I decided to hang out in my craft room for a bit. I decided to create a card for GinaK’s sketch spotlight challenge. The snowflake stamp from Tim Holtz is a trio of flakes, while the sentiment is from Stampendous. The beautiful background paper is from an 8×8 paper pack purchased from Wal-Mart about 3 years ago. To create the spotlight I used the beautiful blue inks from Memento. Starting with Summer Sky, I worked my way through the pallet with Danube Blue, and a touch of Paris Dusk. I adore the idea Gina came up with to use plastic canvas to space out the holes for the brads. While watching that part of the video, I had one of those “Why didn’t I think of that” moments! LOL
