Thank you for joining me for today’s Flashback Friday Lighthouse By The Sea post. Let’s flashback to June of 2012 with two beautiful cards from the By the Sea stamp set by Theresa Momber. This stamp set is one of many that she designed for GinaK and Stamp TV. Let’s jump right into it shall we?
Lighthouse By The Sea
Card #1
The other day I received my GinaK order, which brought to my door Theresa Momber’s stamp sets “By the Sea” and “Wild About You”. This evening it was time to play, and the stamp set of choice was By the Sea. I’ve never tried to create a sponged background like this before, so I followed Theresa’s example for her Luminous Lighthouse.
For my card I used (as Theresa did) Dandelion, Tangelo, Potters Clay, and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink for the background. The Lighthouse was colored with Copic Markers R27, R22, Y17, C3, and the Blender Pen. I stamped the lighthouse and the small birds with Archival Ink in Jet Black and the card base is Pure Luxury White card stock.
One difference between my card and Theresa’s is I only have one gray Copic marker right now. What I did was color the outside of the white portion of the lighthouse with C3 and then I used the blender pen to pull the color into the center. I still need some work with my sponging technique, but it’s not bad for a first time.

Here is another card using the second lighthouse stamp from Theresa’s By the Sea stamp set. Once again, I turned to her craftsmanship for inspiration. This time her card, Live in the Sunshine really spoke to me and I gave it my best shot to recreate the multi colored sky.
The sky and water were created with Memento Inks. For the sky I used Cantaloupe, Angel Pink, Lulu Lavender, Summer Sky, and a little bit of Danube Blue. The water was created with a mix of Danube Blue & Paris Dusk. The lighthouse was colored with Copic Markers in Y17, C3, E11, E13, E15, E18 and the blender pen.
