Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday Show n Tell Holiday Cards post. Isn’t it great how just one project can suddenly open the creative flood gates? That’s exactly what happened back in December 2008 after creating just one card! Let’s take a peek back at more holiday creations!
Holiday Cards
Thanks to the coffee cup inspiration from earlier this afternoon, I finally broke free from my creative rut.
The first card I made is from a challenge at Splitcoaststampers site, Holiday Challenge Extravaganza. I chose to use brown, since I had some brown paper already on my work table, and came up with this card. The large snowflakes are stamped with VersaMark ink and one with white ink, and they are all popped with clear embossing powder. The smaller flake stamp is a stamp by Judith that I bought years ago. The edges of all the layers are inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
The next card was made with paper that I purchaced from Wally World a few years ago. The large snowflake is stamped with VeraMark and popped with white embossing powder.
And the third card is wrapped up like a little package.
Thank you so much for joining me for today’s Flashback Friday Show n Tell Holiday Cards post. Let me take a moment to expand just a bit on the last card since I neglected to back in 2008. The “ribbon” wrapping up my card like a package is the same green cardstock as the card base. It looks like it was trimmed to about ½ inch wide and then glued to the cream-colored mat. I believe the Merry Christmas stamp is one that I borrowed from my mom, and it was likely stamped with a shade of green Memento ink.
I also want to apologize for the poor photo quality. Some of the images saved to the original blog didn’t carry over very well. There’s a part of me that hesitated to share them, but I think you can still see how my creativity came to life back then.
