Flashback Friday Sketch Challenge 141

Posted on July 5, 2024June 27, 2024 by Leen

Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday Sketch Challenge 141 post. In June of 2010 I decided to try my hand at the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. As I mention below, I had been watching their site for a while. It looks like the official challenge has been suspended indefinitely. However, you can still find all the sketches on one of two Pinterest Pages. Mojo Monday Sketches 1 – 500 and Mojo Monday Sketches 501 and Beyond. Even without the challenge aspect, there is so much inspiration here. If you find yourself stuck for a card or scrapbook layout, hit up these Pinterest boards and you’ll find something that inspires you! Let me show you how sketch 141 inspired my creativity.

MoJo Monday Sketch Challenge 141

This is the first time Iโ€™ve participated in the Mojo Monday sketch challenge, but Iโ€™ve been stalking their blog for a while now.

Hereโ€™s the sketch options:

And here is my card:

I chose to do a square card for my first attempt, but I changed the look of the sketch just a bit. The ribbon was omitted, and the sketch was given a quarter turn. I also used my new Tim Holtz Alterations On the Edge die and his flower die as well. The paper was purchased at my local scrapbook store but doesnโ€™t have a label on the back of it, so Iโ€™m not sure who made it.

Thank you for joining me for today’s Flashback Friday Sketch Challenge 141 post. Even though this is a super simple card, it still turned out great. Most of my cards are the typical size – 5″x7″ or 4.25″ x 5.5″. Even after creating this pretty card, I don’t see myself deviating from the norm much. I have, and do like, creating mini slimline cards though. To me, that size isn’t far off from the normal verses a circle or square. Let me know down in the comments, what size card you prefer making? Have you made circle or square cards? If not, why not? Until then, have a fantastic weekend and I will see you back in the craft room again soon!
