Hello my friends, welcome back to the craft room and today’s Habitat Folio Flip Album post. Today I want to share another folio project with you. A couple of years ago, after playing around with an idea, I came up with this Habitat Folio Flip Album. I initially wrote this post in 2018, but it never made it to the older blog. Let me show you what I created.
Folio Base
The base of the album was made with Kraft cardstock from The Paper Studio and it measures 5 ¾” x 6 ¼” x 3/8”. I used some dark brown Offray Satin Ribbon for the closure.
The pattern paper is from the Recollections Habitat paper pad. The majority of the paper used in this album are scraps from a project I created many years ago. Only 3 pieces were taken from the paper pad this time, so there is still plenty left for another project. This paper is absolutely beautiful! It is nice and thick – almost as thick as the cardstock used for the base. Also, about half of the pages in the pad have a glossy accent on them. Because the paper is so thick, and my stash of Scor Tape is running low, I constructed the album with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid glue. I’m always nervous about using liquid glue on pattern paper because I don’t want it to buckle, but there is no sign of that at all!
The folio opens right to left and then the top flap to reveal the pages inside.
The Center Booklet
I wanted to create another waterfall album, but rather than staggering the pages as I did in the last folio, I stacked them one on top of the other this time in a book fashion. Each of the 6 pages measure 5 ½” x 6”.
When I began this project, I envisioned pockets on the fold out pages to hold tags or more photo mats. When it came time to add the pattern paper however, it was rather late in the evening. At the time it just didn’t occur to me that I would need to add the pockets and then cut the paper. So, perhaps next time.
