Back in January I found out a co-worker was less than a week away from having a birthday. So I decided to surprise her with a birthday card. I have had the Etched Layered Daisy die from Simon Says Stamp for a few months and wanted to use. Soraya’s birthday was the perfect opportunity.
I cut the two pieces from a piece of 110lb. white Recollections card stock from Michaels. I wanted to use Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol to add the color. To give the flowers more stability while coloring, I placed them back into the card they were cut from. To keep them in place, I added painters tape to the back.

For the petals I used lavender and dahlia purple, and the flower center was pale vermilion and canary yellow. Using a blending stump with the Gamsol, I blended the first layer of colors. After that I used the dark dahlia purple to add some texture on the petals.

The sentiment is one of my favorites, Opposites Attract by The Greetery. Using my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment with amalgam ink by GinaK Designs.

I had a lot of fun making this card, and Soraya Loved it!! That alone made my day!
