Flashback Friday Fall Happy Birthday

Posted on October 10, 2025September 14, 2025 by Leen

Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday Fall Happy Birthday post. Back in April of 2011, I already had fall on the brain. Using items that I had been hoarding for some time, I created a cute little card to save for the many fall birthdays coming up. The picture of the finished card is definitely not my bestโ€”letโ€™s all be thankful my craft photography has greatly improved since then! Still, this adorable card is worth re-sharing.

Fall Happy Birthday

I am on a roll! I made this fall-type Birthday card to keep the patterned paper thing going. The picture turned out a little blurry, but the colors are more true with no flashโ€”and I think I took a breath while snapping it. lol Even so, the only thing you canโ€™t really see in the photo are the little blue and reddish lines in the paper.

For this card, I use more paper from the Vibrant ATD paper pack along with some Buckskin Brown paper from the Paper Company. This stuff is AMAZING! It feels like soft leather, and in person it even looks like it as well. The stamp comes from an unknown pack of greeting stamps that Iโ€™ve had forever.

Speaking of forever, the silk flowers have been around about that long too. lol They started out white, and I add the color with my Bic Mark-It pens in Yellow Blaze, Summer Melon, and Sunset Orange. One of the flowers had already been stamped with a pink Memento ink, and you can still see some of that through the orange. Thatโ€™s OK thoughโ€”it adds a little extra texture and interest.

Thank you for joining me for todayโ€™s Flashback Friday Fall Happy Birthday post. I didnโ€™t put a lot of extra information into the original version, so let me fill in a few more details here. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink, and the scalloped rectangle was cut with the Spellbinders Long Classic Scallop Rectangle die set. While I still love the orange daisies, if I were making this card today, I would probably add a little shading to give them more depth. And once againโ€”letโ€™s be thankful that my photography skills have improved over the years!

Now Iโ€™d love to hear from you: whatโ€™s the oldest supply in your stash, and how do you like to incorporate older items into your current projects?
