Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday Love You Card post. This fun little project would make a great Valentines Day card if you needed to whip one up right quick. The color possibilities are also endless. I choose to use a more muted palette, but it would be amazing in brighter colors as well. This is one of those short but sweet blog posts. Because I was working with a small piece of scrap file folder, it didn’t take long at all to make. Let me show you how easy this project is.

Here is a little card I made tonight while playing with some of my new toys. The focal image is a left over piece of file folder that’s been laying around. The first thing I did was add a scalloped edge with my new Long Classic Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities die. I stamped the heart and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. After that I stamped the “From the Heart” background stamp and added a few swirls with Tea Dye Distress Ink.
To add extra interest, I ink blended with my new Memento DewDrop inks in Dandelion, Cantaloupe, and Rose Bud. After that, I added a bit of age to it with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I had planned to add a 3-D butterfly, but did not like how it looked. When I unstuck that lil bugger, it unfortunately ripped the card base, To cover the boo boo I created a “Love You” tag with my new Small Petite Oval Nestabilities die from Spellbinders and a stamp set I’ve had for years. I added a little bit of color to this as well with the same inks as above. Everything is adhered with red line tape onto the card base which is a nice thick brown card stock purchased from my local scrapbook store.

However, it does have that distressed look to it that adds nicely to the card project. I believe this was one of my first ventures into ink blending. It turned out pretty well considering I didn’t know what I was doing! As I mentioned above, this would make a great Valentines Day card. In these colors and with the brown card base it would be fantastic for the man in your life.
