Flashback Friday White Heat Embossing

Posted on August 9, 2024August 8, 2024 by Leen

Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday White Heat Embossing post. In my opinion, nothing is more beautiful than a white heat embossed image. Even though I participated in a lot of the Free For All challenges back in 2012, I jumped on the “White Heat…embossing” challenge and created two cards. Let me show you what I made.

White Heat Embossing

This week the Free For All Friday challenge, hosted by Judy, was all about White Heatโ€ฆembossing. This week I made two cards for this challenge, one a little more labor intensive than the other.

White Heat Embossed Card #1

For the first card, I started with a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the rose stamp, from B & Jโ€™s Art Stamps. With Versa Mark ink I embossed it with white embossing powder. To add color, I used Distress inks and a water brush.

Photo of the first card created for today's post featuring white heat embossing and watercolor with Distress Inks.

To create the watercolor image, I used a variety of Distress Inks. The rose is colored with Rusty Hinge. To color the leaves I used Peeled Pain, and the stems with a touch of Frayed Burlap. I liked the look but didnโ€™t think the white embossed image showed very well. To bring out the white embossing, I then added a wash of Weathered Wood to the background.

White Heat Embossed Card #2

The next card I created was much simpler to create, but I think it is still beautiful.

The second card created for today's Flashback Friday White Heat Embossing post featuring white heat embossing onto plain color card.

The next card was much simpler to create. I started with my newest stamp, Blooming Meadow by Hero Arts. It was embossed onto a piece of dark magenta card with white embossing powder. This layer is placed onto a black card mat before adding it to a piece of pattern paper. The paper came from the Making Memories pack, which was made specifically for Archivers Scrapbook store. To add one more touch of beauty, I used the Doily Lace edge punch from Martha Stewart to edge of the pattern paper.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by and remember comments are always welcome!

Thank you for joining me for today’s Flashback Friday White Heat Embossing post. I like the first card; however, it would have looked more dramatic with a darker watercolor background. Now the second card is my absolute favorite. The bright white embossing on the dark magenta background is softened by the delicate pink of the pattern paper. It is such a beautiful combination. Let me know in the comments which one is your favorite. If you would like to check out some of my other posts featuring white heat embossing, check out this link here: White Embossing Powder. Until then, have a fantastic weekend and I will see you back in the craft room again soon!
