Hello and welcome back to the craft room and the Memories Envelope Mini Album post. Today, I‘m going to share an envelope mini album that has been a long time in the making. About 11 years ago, my mom and I went on a Mother/Daughter vacation back to her home town in Aberdeen, South Dakota. After that trip I wanted to make a mini album to hold all of the pictures that were taken.
At the time I was fascinated by envelope mini albums, and had already made a few of them. I just needed to find a large enough envelope to use. I came up with this one using a manila envelope. The completed pages have been floating around my craft room ever since. If they went too deep, I would move them to the top of the pile so they wouldn’t get destroyed. Finally it was time to just sit down, make the covers and get it put together! Let me show you how it turned out.
Mini Album

The covers measure 7 ½” x 9 ½”, the spine is 1 ¾” x 9 ½”. The actual pages measure 7 1/4’” x 9”. Not so mini as mini albums go.

I used the Memories Documented paper pad by Recollections. The Kraft cardstock is by both Recollections and The Paper Studio.

I didn’t do a whole lot of decorating because I want to have a place for a ton of photos. Right now there is room in the album for a total of 83 pictures!! I did want to add some interest to the front cover though. This paper pad had a lot of cut-a-part pages so I used one of the 4” x 6” images. To add even more interest I added flowers cut with my Heartfelt Creations Classic Sunflower dies. The gems were added to the flower centers as well. To give some definition to the petals of the sunflowers, I used a little bit of Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

The Inside Pages
Let’s take a look inside! On the inside cover, I used another cut-a-part and only applied glue on three sides for a little tuck spot.

Each pocket page holds a photo mat that measures 8 ½” x 6 ½”. You can easily fit four 4” x 6” photos on each mat. I used the Envelop Punch Board to add the long tab across the side.

Here is another pocket and this mat measures 8 ½” x 6 ¾”. The Deco corners were cut with the We Are Memory Keepers Corner Chompers.

The flip up photo mats here measure 4” x 6”. The photos added here will need to be trimmed down just a bit. An example of how long ago these pages were made, I don’t even remember what distress ink I used. I do know it was not Vintage Photo.

I think this is my favorite page spread in the entire book. There are many options to chose from here. Four photos would fit nicely. The entire spread could be used to journal about the trip, or a combination of the two! The possibilities are endless.

Here is another pocket page, but this time I added a flap that measures 7” x 4 ½”.

With the side pocket on this page, I chose to add 4 individual photo mats. They each measure 6 ¼” x 4 ¼”. With the Deco design on the corners, I can easily add the same to the photos for a uniform look.

The Back Cover
And finally, on the back cover I added a waterfall element. There are 6 flaps and each measures 4” x 6”. The photos will need to be trimmed a bit to fit if you want a mat.

It’s almost embarrassing how long it took to get this Memories Envelope Mini Album finished. But I’m so glad this album is finally ready for pictures. Now comes the fun part, printing them out and adding them. Have you ever made a mini album before? If so, how long did it take to finish it? Or am I the only one that takes 11 years to finish a project? Let me know in the comments below!
