Welcome back to the craft room and today’s Flashback Friday Tabletop Flower Garden post. I don’t know about you, but I love paper flowers! I’m always intrigued by how realistic paper and tissue blooms can look. Every time I see them, I can’t help but want to try making them myself. Even when mine don’t quite match the realism I see online, I still enjoy the process. Experimenting with new techniques and seeing how everything comes together is half the fun.
In the images below, you’ll see flowers created using EK Success punches, Heartfelt Creations dies, Spellbinders Nestabilities dies, and a couple of Tim Holtz dies thrown in for fun. There are also flowers made from coffee filters and colored with Copic Markers and craft inks. You’ll notice a variety of flower centers as well, from simple beads to buttons and other embellishments. Changing the centers really transforms the look of each bloom.
Tabletop Flower Garden
The other day, while working on my explosion box, I start looking around for flowers to add to it. The first ones I come across were the Classic Sunflowers from Heartfelt Creations—which I absolutely love—but then I discover a small bucket filled to the brim with flowers in all different shapes, sizes, and colors. I can’t resist spreading them out and snapping a photo of the whole collection.
As you can see, some of the flowers are made with punches and dies, including a few created with different Spellbinders dies. Most are made from cardstock, but a handful are made with coffee filters. There’s a generous mix of Distress Inks and Memento Inks throughout, and I even spot three flowers colored with Copic Markers.
This isn’t all of them, either. There are plenty more tucked away in the bucket that are still just pieces or sitting there in bright, boring white—lol.
I have so much fun making these flowers; now I just need to start using them more often! One of my biggest challenges, though, is figuring out how to send cards that include 3D flowers. So now it’s your turn to share—how do you send your 3D creations to family and friends?
